"I brought a 100 amp black alternator last month as my alternator in my 66 was giving me grief (so I thought at the time) . On taking it to the shop, my auto elect said the wiring had to be looked at first. Which he did and then explained that the black alternator would not be suitable (too high amps). He kept the car for a couple of weeks, did the wiring and then supplied and fitted a Bosch unit. So I took the alternator back to grab a refund as the unit had not been fitted or used. This could be clearly seen. I was told that electrical goods could not be refunded so I insisted on chatting with one of the owners as I thought common sense would prevail. It obviously did not and no refund given. To say I was peeved is an understatement. I was asked where was the box ? "a" it never came in a box and "b" was simply given to me in a plastic bag. The same way it was returned. Now I have a brand new alternator never fitted or used. This can be seen by any blind man or woman (in my instance). Every now and again customer service needs some trust and flexibility. Reasons of you have damaged it or I can't sell it again don't wash when it is so obvious. If the unit is faulty then its faulty but not in this case. I returned it in the same condition I brought it. New. In hindsight, I actually should have said it was faulty and demanded a refund but I was way too honest. As a long time member of the mustang club (MOCA Vic), I will ensure those I speak with, know of my experience and disgust at such poor customer service."
