"Would definitely recommend! Friendly and efficient service, called and had the car booked for the next day. Called around 5 places in Canberra to get a quote and they offered me the best by far! Also transferred payment before the car was towed. Happy days!"
"Initially an easy process; met the driver at pick up point and negotiated payment, bank details provided - seemed easy and tow truck driver was lovely. However, when I called Cash for Cars almost a week later and then daily requested an update / response / proof of remittance, I was always assured they would get right on it. Not once did I RECEIVE a call back - I was always initiating the conversation and never did get a remittance receipt, which should be standard business practise. Disappointed in lack of response. Finally have payment but won't be recommending service to anyone. POSTSCRIPT: Following response from business is NOT TRUE. At no point did I cancel my booking - we negotiated the price for the car. I gave my bank details to the driver, he signed the disposal form and took the car. Cancellation would mean you went away empty handed, which didn't happen. I then gave you almost a week before following up on payment. Daily phone calls were not responded to and then it appeared my number was being blocked."
"NO PAYMENT, NO COMMUNICATION This business (sole trader Blake Bartley, ABN 86 858 554 981) took my car (Nissan Pulsar) on March 1 but said they would only pay via bank transfer. The driver took my bank details, claiming a transfer would be paid that afternoon. I have tried calling (spoke to a ‘Daniel’ who would not provide their full name) who initially promised payment would be made, but it might take a bit longer. After this, subsequent calls go unanswered (as though they are avoiding my number – it goes through to a full message bank). I tested this by ringing from a different number and got through again to ‘Daniel’ who gave me Blake’s number and told me to contact him for payment. Calls to Blakes number also go unanswered. I emailed Blake a week ago with full details reminding for payment but still no reply and no payment. It seems from other reviews that I am not the first person to experience this. Blake: please get in contact with me to arrange payment (check your emails blake@bbstowing). I would rather resolve this amicably without getting third parties involved – but I will if I need to. "Like a lot of other reviews, I received a call from the tow truck driver to confirm the price for the car ($600). My wife provided her account details and was told payment would be forthcoming. After a week, I called Dan and was told the payment would be processed that day. A week later, I tried to call Dan. My number was blocked. A different phone called through straight away. After multiple calls and emails, I contacted the AFP, who spoke to Dan. Again, after promises to pay me, nothing happened. After another email to BBS Towing, Blake said his team were on leave and an administration issue had occurred. I supplied my account details, however payment still has not come through. This is not an issue over incorrect account details! My wife runs a business herself and has never had an issue with account details, likewise, I have never had an issue previously too. Yesterday I submitted a complaint to Fair Trading ACT and am awaiting a reply from them. *Update* BBs Towing has since paid the full agreed price for my car. I thank them for this."
"Similar to others, still waiting on payment after they picked up my hyundai getz last week. I've called and messaged on every number I could find, with no success - someone else answered last week and assured me it would be transferred, but since then they've stopped answering my calls. Just want the money - it might not be much to them but it is a lot to me."
